Voice Over help videos
To be a voiceover you need to be mentally strong
Believe it or not, voice over requires you to be mentally strong. There are going to be a lot of times where you can feel unworthy or untalented due to the enormous amount of rejection that can be involved in voiceover. Don't let it get to you. The more you worry about winning the job, the more pressure you put on yourself during the audition process. Microphones are very sensitive and will pick up on desperation. Just remember if you have booked before, you are more than likely to book again!
Put yourself there for your voice over
Voice over is all about pretending how you would say words in an abstract situation. When you are given a script you need to find ways to transport your mind into the situation and then say the words as you would say them in that situation. Today's video gives you more tips on how to do that.
Voice over and marketing
OK, OK. Marketing is not the most favourite of Voice Over topics! Yet, something happened over the last week that I wanted to share. It proves that marketing can take time and you must have patience. So when you are struggling with marketing and think that you are not getting any traction - realize that it can take time for the right person to find the right project for your voice!
Have an opinion about your voice over
When reading a voice over script, it is important that you express an opinion that means something to you. Sometimes you can connect quite easily, other times you may need to use another experience that you have had to get in the same frame of mind. Whatever you need to do, make sure people hear that you connect.
Voiceover and lists
Lists can be really hard to bring to life in voice over. Yet there are some tips that can help you make them sound interesting and stand out in a natural way. Patience and Training in Voice over
When I first started out in voiceover, I thought I knew everything and that I sounded amazing! Little did I know that I was completely and utterly wrong! This business takes time and in this video I compare a script I recorded in my first ever voice over class in 2016 and then I read it again to show how improvement comes with time.
